Universal Audio just announced Arrow, its latest two-channel portable audio interface ahead of NAMM 2018. It’s meant for both bedroom studio use and producing on the road, connecting to your PC or Mac laptop via a Thunderbolt 3 cable. It has an all-metal construction and features two TRS-combo mic inputs, a pair of 1/4″ output jacks, a 1/4″ instrument jack for hooking up a guitar and a 1/4″ headphone jack. It also has a single multi-purpose knob for adjusting output volume and input gains.
Arrow has a “UAD2 Solo” processor chip onboard, meaning using this audio interface can get you access to the Universal Audio library of analogue emulation effect plugins which include EQs, compressors and reverbs. The chip also does the heavy lifting as far as plugins go, which saves your computer some processing power.
We loved Universal Audio’s Apollo Twin interface – it’s what we use in our production studio, and it’s quite capable given its size. This new Arrow interface looks even smaller, making it an ideal travel companion for on-the-go DJ/producers.
