Easily the star of Rane’s product line this year at NAMM 2015, the brand new Rane MP2015 is an installation mixer that features all-rotary knob controls reminiscent of club mixers from the past. Intended for house and electronic music DJs, the MP2015 had both analogue and digital jocks drooling when they passed by the Rane booth for a quick demo.
Although for some reason we expected the rotary knobs to be more weighted than they were, they did feel great when we tried it out. We couldn’t hear just how good this mixer sounded because of the ambient noise at on the showroom floor (it is a music gear trade show, after all), but we’re willing to bet that it sounds fantastic. It also has dual USB jacks for back to back performances, and the channel sweep filters and Isolator EQ at the master section just sounded awesome.
