The Roland DJ-808 Serato DJ controller is on display here at BPM|PRO 2016. The unit is a collaboration between the two companies, and is a four-channel controller with a built-in step sequencer that comes with sounds from four classic Roland drum machines: the 606, 707, 808, and 909. There are two jogwheels per deck with performance pads, and an onboard voice FX processor for adding effects to vocals sung through a mic that’s connected to it. You can even hook up other Roland Aira series gear to the DJ-808 and use it as the heart of your live performance rig.
Check out the talkthrough video below.
• The Roland DJ-808 will be available from October 2016 for £1239. Check the Serato x Roland website for more details.
