Hercules has just announced its latest DJ controller, the Hercules DJControl Inpulse 500, for Serato and DJUCED software. Read our full review and watch our review video.
A good-looking controller along the lines of the Traktor Kontrol S2 Mk3, it however contains some unique features designed to help beginner DJs quickly master the art of manual beatmixing and song selection, with an “energy level” system for choosing the next song, and “beat align” markers to show whether each deck is behind or ahead of the other when beatmixing.
It comes with Serato DJ Lite in the box and the full version of DJUCED, Hercules’s own software, and between the two you can access a whole host of music streaming services: SoundCloud, Tidal, Beatport Link, Beatsource Link, and Qobuz.

The unit feel substantial even though it is only a bus-powered two channel controller, with sturdy feet and underside lighting, plus a metal-plated mixer section, making it stand out from the crowd. The external inputs have EQ (mic) and filter (aux), and the pads are full RGB – pretty unusual at this price point.
It will cost US$299, £279, €279 when it become available in store early July, and buyers from the UK and Europe who purchase through Hercules’s own store, Thomann or Bax Shop will get an upgrade to Serato DJ Pro for free.
