Among a slew of new features in its products announced today, Algoriddim has added the big one to its djay 2 software: Key detection and key matching – but only for users of the new iPhone 5S. Key is now auto-detected, and can be altered on the fly for real-time harmonic matching, something which the company claimed rivals and even surpasses many desktop DJ systems.
The improvements are part of a twice-faster audio analysis engine that also handles BPM, grids, waveforms and gain, designed to take advantage of the new 64-bit A7 chip in the iPhone 5S. “If ever anyone said iPads don’t make up for laptops, I can already tell you from our tests here that iPhone 5s with the new A7 blows away most laptops.” said Algoriddim CEO, Karim Morsy.
In another update, Algoriddim has announced that its vjay software for the iPhone 5S can now handle full HD video, again rivalling desktop systems for sheer power. The company has thrown in coloured waveforms, too.
