Online music mastering provider LANDR has announced a new service allowing DJs, producers and artists to move beyond mastering individual tracks and into mastering complete albums, compilations and mixtapes in one go.
LANDR says this means that: “Artists have a fast, easy and affordable way to deliver a cohesive, unified listening experience across an album without compromising independent mastering from track to track.”
“Album mastering is a challenge even for experienced engineers, who trade off between the competing demands of disparate tracks while respecting the artist’s creative goals in assembling and sequencing their songs,” said Daniel Rowland, LANDR’s Head of Production.
“This is something that both individual artists and labels have been asking for, and we’re the first cloud-based platform to offer mastering across an entire album.”
This means that you can use LANDR to apply that crucial layer of mastering polish across all your songs in a mix album (if you’ve chopped them into individual tracks), or across your entire mixtape. No more having to worry about your mix having track levels that are “all over the place” or having a low overall volume.
