LANDR, the instant online mastering service, just announced a massive platform update. It now includes the ability to master your productions using three distinct sonic modes: Warm, Balanced and Open. Warm delivers a smooth overall sound that gives you a vintage-sounding master. Balanced gives you a nuanced, clear and focused sound. Finally, Open gives you a punchy master that’s right up there with modern recordings.
Other new features include a Volume Matching option for comparing the results of the different mastering settings, plus the ability to customise and save Mastering Preferences for bulk productions and projects.
We’ve seen LANDR grow and develop through the years, and it’s really improved a lot since it started back in 2014. The AI that runs the mastering algorithm has got more powerful and precise – I regularly run my productions and mixtapes through it for that final sheen – and the addition of music distribution to streaming services and online stores has made it a one-stop shop for music producers. We think the new update is awesome and we can’t wait to try it out.
• All three modes are available now to all LANDR users for a limited time. Check the LANDR site for more details.
