This beguiling little tool from the Mixed In Key folks just got better, the latest version offering hugely improved speed over the older versions, and now with the ability to save your mashups to Dropbox, Mail and AirDrop, meaning you can transfer your results to your computer (read: DJ software) in seconds.
Here’s our review of iMashup 2.0, but for the uninitiated, iMashup is the iOS version of Mixed In Key’s Mashup software, that lets you take two tracks from your music collection and sync, loop, cut, paste, re-arrange, mix and generally shoehorn them together in any number of creative ways. It’s designed to suggest tracks that match musically, saving you having to work that out for yourself, and virtually guaranteeing at least acceptable results.
The idea is that you can make your own unique re-edits, mashups and remixes, then use them in your DJ sets, giving you something unique to play. If you’re a DJ, producer or musician who’s ever wanted to blend two tracks together to make something new, it’s definitely work a look, especially in this new improved version.
• iMashup 3 for iPhone and iPad is available now at US$4.99.
