IK Multimedia has announced the iLoud Micro Monitors here at NAMM 2016. The speakers are bi-amplified, boast a true linear frequency response, yet according to IK Multimedia are “the smallest active studio reference monitoring system in the world”.
Each pair’s twin class D power amplifiers push out a combined 50 W RMS of power, with a 3/4″ silk dome tweeter and a 3″ woofer, plus a front bass reflex port. They have on-board DSPs handling digital crossover and for managing the dynamic range. They can be used with 1/8″ jack and RCA wired, or Bluetooth, and are small enough to fit in a gig bag or backpack.
“With iLoud Micro Monitor, musicians and producers now have a way to critically listen to their music no matter whether they’re mixing in a small makeshift recording space, mastering in a hotel room, producing in a larger studio or just listening at home,” says the company.
