Native Instruments recently announced that its Komplete Kontrol A-Series keyboard controllers are now on sale and shipping worldwide. The Komplete Kontrol A-Series is the streamlined and more affordable entry in the Komplete Kontrol series of keyboards. It comes in 25-key, 49-key and 61-key configurations, and all models come with semi-weighted keys on a custom NI keybed, eight rotary encoders, a small display for viewing status and parameters, DAW transport controls, pitch and mod wheels, and browse controls including a four-way browse knob.
It comes with a USB socket at the back for connecting to your laptop. The Komplete Kontrol A-Series ships with Native Instruments’ Komplete Kontrol software for quickly dialling in presets, and you also get other apps and synths including Maschine Essentials and The Gentleman.
Komplete Kontrol keyboards are awesome pieces of kit for DJ/producers because not only do they play and feel great, but they integrate tightly with NI favourites like Massive and Kontakt. They’re pricier than other keyboards on the market though, which can be tough on bedroom producers. The entry-level A-Series keyboards addresses that concern head-on, starting at just US$159 for the 25-key model. Watch out for our review of it soon.
