Numark just released its flagship Numark NS7III DJ controller. It’s an update to the NS7II, and is the only DJ controller with actual spinning jogwheel platters in the market today. The NS7III adds three onboard LCD screens to an already impressive package (see our Numark NS7II review), giving visual feedback of virtual decks from Serato DJ as well as library browsing and the ability to display stacked waveforms via the middle screen. It’s also got 16 MPC performance pads, touch-sensitive EQ and effects knobs, and an all-metal build.
We thought the NS7II was an excellent product, even though it eschewed some of the traditional advantages of DJ controllers (eg small size/weight for portability). The NS7III looks to build on what already made a good device great, especially for DJs who want to retain the feel of using turntables without having to purchase an entire mixer / deck / DVS box set. We’ll give you our thoughts soon as a we can – a review unit just arrived in the office.
