Pioneer has announced the Pioneer DDJ-SR for Serato DJ, a two-channel / four deck version of the hugely successful Pioneer DDJ-SX controller. Retaining velocity-sensitive dedicated Serato DJ performance pad controls, it also boasts “all-new Pad Plus modes”, which let you “enhance your performance pad modes and unlock brand new features (Hot Cue Roll, Transform, Combo FX and Sample Roll)”.
Unlike the DDJ-SX, this one is USB powered, but it retains a master and booth output. It has a single external input for an auxiliary music source, and a microphone through as well.
Of course we’ll bring you a hands-on from the BPM Show this weekend, but if you want to get your hands on one, it’ll be available this October. The price is yet to be confirmed, but quoted online at between US$599 and US$699.
