The on-message news from Pioneer DJ today (alongside the division’s impending sale) is a new DJ headphone model: the Pioneer HDJ-C70.
These headphones are a departure from the rest of Pioneer’s headphones, in that – just like the V-Moda XS headphones we recently reviewed – they’re an “on-ear” model, making them lightweight and more flexible than bulkier designs. With rotatable arms, interchangeable parts, and a minimalistic cosmetic look, they are clearly inspired by the perennially popular Sennheiser HD-25 models.
Apparently, “The new headphones are designed to help minimise loud background noise, often found in loud environments such as a DJ booth, by utilising a special sound-isolation ‘air chamber’ integrated into the housing of the earpiece.” So now you know.
• The Pioneer HDJ-C70 headphones will be available from October, with a suggested price of €179 / $239. You can watch a promo video here.
