Pioneer DJ just released an update to its Rekordbox DJ software. Now at v4.04, it adds a much-requested feature, compatibility with the Pioneer XDJ-RX all-in-one system, giving users basic control over Rekordbox DJ. Full HID support, including library browsing and waveforms on the XDJ-RX’s display, will come in an update on February 2016, it has been promised.
We liked the XDJ-RX and thought that all-ins were where controllers for club-minded DJs could potentially be headed, that is, DJs who would rather use their laptops to prepare music at home and then take them on a USB stick to the club.
But Pioneer DJ threw a curveball in the form of Rekordbox DJ though, and Rekordbox XDJ-RX users felt left out as it didn’t work with their unit. Looks like that’s now being fixed.
• Rekordbox DJ 4.04 is now available for download. Check the Rekordbox website for more details.
