Reloop has just unveiled a limited edition gold model of its RP-7000 MK2 turntable. It’s got the same design, build and features of the RP-7000 MK2 but with the addition of gold accents throughout the unit including the headshell, platter and tonearm, plus an engraved plate with its unique serial number.
Like the RP-7000 MK2, the RP-7000 MK2 GLD is a direct-drive turntable that’s got a high-torque motor, three speeds (33 1/3, 45 and 78 RPM), three pitch fader ranges (+/- 8%, +/- 16%, +/- 50%) and an S-shaped tonearm. It also has two Start/Stop buttons to accommodate both standard and battle orientations, and it’s got a built-in phono preamp onboard.
We’ve reviewed the RP-7000 MK2 and thought it’s a decent and well-priced turntable for digital DJs looking to add decks for spinning with a DVS. It doesn’t bring anything new to the table (the RP-8000 did exactly that a few years prior) but if you’re looking for a standard turntable it’s a good choice, and if gold happens to be your colour, this RP-7000 Mk2 GLD edition should be on your shortlist.
