Reloop just announced Elite, a premium two-channel mixer for Serato DJ. It was unveiled alongside the new RP-8000MK2 turntable, and they are meant to be used together as a top-shelf digital DJ turntable set-up.
The Reloop Elite has eight performance pads per channel with eight pad modes (including Hot Cue, Loop Roll, and Slicer), three-band EQs, an onboard USB 2.0 sound card, looping controls, knobs and buttons for browsing and loading tracks onto Serato DJ’s decks, and extensive FX sections to control Serato DJ’s effects. It also has two OLED displays onboard that show information like BPM, effect settings, and other parameters. The onboard volume faders and crossfader are Mini Innofader Pros.
The rear has two pairs of phono inputs and line inputs, RCA and XLR master outputs, 1/4″ booth outputs, Session In/Out jacks, two USB sockets for connecting up to two laptops, a 1/4″ mic input and a USB hub for connecting up to two RP-8000MK2 turntables. The front has crossfader and line fader curve adjustment knobs, reverse / hamster switches, a mic section with two-band EQ and echo, and headphone output jacks.
The Reloop Elite seems to be an awesome mixer that ticks a lot of boxes for scratch and battle DJs: the chunky pads look good for performing cue juggles and trigging hot cues, the FX controls give expanded tweaking options, plus three Mini Innofader Pros for the line faders and crossfader make cuts sound clean and feel great.
It looks like a cross between the Rane Seventy-Two and the Pioneer DJ DJM-S9, and we’re excited to see Reloop join the “pro scratch mixer” fray. Watch out for our review of it soon.
