Samson just announced the Expedition XP300, a new portable PA system package for mobile DJs. It’s composed of two compact speakers with six-inch woofers and a versatile six-channel powered mixer that has two XLR microphone inputs along with 1/4″ and 1/8″ line inputs. It’s also got a USB jack for connecting Samson’s wireless microphone system, and Bluetooth connectivity for streaming audio from smartphones and tablets. It’s got a unique speaker-locking design that allows it to be packed and carried as a single unit for quick and easy transport.
We’ve reviewed the Expedition XP106W from Samson and were impressed by its power, versatility and portability, especially since it’s a battery-operated unit. Though the XP300 needs to be connected to a power source, it looks to continue that tradition of quality compact performance. We’ve got a review unit on the way so stay tuned for our thoughts on it.
• The Samson Expedition XP300 is now available for US$399. Check the Samson site for details.
