Stanton is back. The brand, previously (and arguably) best-known for its legendary turntable cartridges, has just announced the STX portable scratch turntable.
The unit is aimed a peg above most such turntables, with an Innofader-brand crossfader, switchable rechargeable batteries with USB-C charging for longer mixing time, and further turntablist features such as independent crossfader cut-in and curve knobs for clean cuts, and an ultra pitch switch.

The idea is that you add beats and loopers via, for instance, a smartphone connected over Bluetooth, giving you something to scratch over. You can then record directly to the built-in USB port.
It has a built-in speaker, stereo RCA out sockets, and both 1/4″ and 1/8″ headphones sockets. Another nice touch is that the latching lid also functions as a stackable latching base, bringing the STX to standard turntable height when using alongside other equipment.
The Stanton STX retails for $249. Look out for our review soon – meanwhile, find out more on the Stanton website.
