Native Instruments has just its latest controller the Traktor Kontrol S5, ahead of this weekend’s BPM Show. Taking a cue from the flagship Traktor Kontrol S8, the Kontrol S5 is a four-channel controller that includes onboard screens, a built-in sound card, and Stems compatibility straight out the box. Unlike the Kontrol S8 and the modular Kontrol D2, however, the Traktor Kontrol S5 doesn’t have any Stems / Remix Deck faders in either deck, and you can’t hook up a pair of turntables or CDJs to it.
This looks to be the next generation successor to Native’s Traktor S4 series, although since it lacks any phono / line inputs (apart from a mic and Aux input), it more closely resembles the less expensive Traktor Kontrol S2.
We’re flying out to the BPM Show in a few hours, and we are thoroughly expecting the Kontrol S5 to make its worldwide debut there, so we’ll bring you first hand photos and impressions of it.
