Native Instruments just announced a public beta for the latest version of Traktor Pro 3. Now at version 3.3, it includes support for the upcoming macOS 10.15 (codenamed Catalina) as well as compatibility with the new Music app which replaces iTunes. That means if and when you do decide to upgrade to the latest macOS, not only will Traktor work, but you also get proper integration with your Music library right in the Traktor browser.
For those who don’t want to update to the latest macOS, Traktor Pro 3.3 still includes a variety of fixes and improved integration with iTunes.
This is welcome news from Native Instruments amid a tough past few weeks after reports of staff cuts made rounds online. As with past macOS updates, new versions always bring some incompatibilities at the beginning, so even though Traktor will be compatibile with macOS Catalina and Music, we do recommend waiting a few weeks or even months before upgrading just to keep things bulletproof.
UPDATE: As of 21 October, the Traktor team is reporting a hitch with this – we’ll keep you updated; hopefully they’ll work it out and it will launch with this functionality intact.
