UDG just released two new entry-level Urbanite Midi Controller Backpacks, in time for Musikmesse 2015. The medium-sized model can store DJ controllers and production gear like the Numark NV, Pioneer DDJ-SB, Maschine Studio, and Traktor Kontrol S4 Mk2, while the large-sized one can carry the Pioneer DDJ-SR, DDJ-SX, XDJ-R1, and the Traktor Kontrol S8. Both sizes contain top and side handles, as well as straps to carry the bag as a rucksack on your back or as a shoulder bag.
The packs have compartments for laptops, headphones, and other DJ accessories. They also come with foam inserts for in the controller compartment for a snug fit. While not completely waterproof, these bags feature a water repellent exterior which helps keep water away from your gear in case it rains.
The Urbanite series aims to be a cost-effective way to carry gear to and from gigs, and starting at US$169, offers a sensible option for stashing your kit away safely, especially if you gig often.
• The Urbanite Midi Controller Backpacks are available now at US$169 for the medium-sized bag and US$179 for the large. Check the UDG website for more details.
